Charleston Wedding Band with Horns
Charleston carries one of the busiest wedding markets in the Southeast, and the standard is high. Couples book early, planners have seen everything, and a reception band is judged on whether the floor stays full.
A market that has seen it all
Charleston couples and planners compare a lot of options before they book. That is a reasonable filter and it works in favour of a real horn section, because it is the one thing that separates a nine piece from the DJ and the four piece quoting half the price.
What it means practically is that video matters more here than anywhere else in the region. Watch the reel before anything else, because it answers the question faster than a conversation will.
Estate and plantation venues
A large share of Charleston receptions happen outside the peninsula, at estates and former plantation properties with long driveways, limited parking and sometimes limited power.
Those venues are usually gorgeous and almost always more complicated for a band than a hotel ballroom. Load in distance, generator capacity and weather cover are the three things to confirm. None are problems, they just need to be known in advance.
Timeline and coverage
Charleston is roughly two hours from the band home base, which is a comfortable day trip and does not change the lineup or the set.
Worth flagging your date early. Charleston Saturdays in spring and autumn book further out than anything else in the region.
The set
189 songs in the book, across Motown and classic soul, R&B and funk, disco, classic rock, current pop, standards, and the first dance songs a reception needs. Requests outside the list can usually be learned with enough notice.
Travel
Charleston is about two hours from home base. No reduced lineup, no travel conditions beyond what any out of town date involves.
